Rendering of Presence

The “inner life”, for me, is not a world full of imaginary characters and fiction. It’s completely opposite to fiction, where we get to experience the hyperreal. It is the expression of absolute truth. The Innenleben hits us with force, effortlessly, in the most seemingly mundane of circumstances:

The beauty of a sunlight room plagued by dust

A muted window, hovering in the darkness, freshly kissed with a cool winter light

My life exists, and is given meaning through these isolated moments. These moments hold incredible tension. They are still, yet vibrate. The obligation of the artist is, and has always been, the noble effort of communicating these sublime moments—devoid of “self”— the universal language of every conscious being.
